about

This song is about staring at the sea wishing you could escape... Wishing you could be on a trawler... Being a fisherman and leaving the crappy office life behind... Then in the blastbeat and thrash parts, the sheer monotony [slightly Darkspace style] of the diesel engine and the sickness from the fumes... The seagrass is not always greener, as every good dugong knows! A joyous return to terra firma at the end reminds us that the ocean is a lovely concept best experienced from the shore :-).

lyrics

Darkness...
wrapping the inevitable rumor
of the emerging Gods.
Voices of awakening,
arising from the deep of the abyss,
where no light can remain.
And the night had thrown her pall,
upon the lake, upon us all.

But me, the solitary soul,
could make a shelter of that dim lake.
I stand beneath the stars,
to hear their plot,
upon the lake, upon us all.
Where the vast darkness is protected,
under thick curtains of moss.

Hiding the secrets of other lives,
that the wind in its disturbing scourge,
struggles to behold.

Perceived as gentle froth,
on the surface of that magical and fearsome giant.
Sunk In the lethargy of the centuries.

As appealing as lethal,
(It) seems to be waiting
to rise from its depths.

In dreams and secrets swaying for the eternity.
In the twilight of my days, was my lot,
to haunt the path
of an obscure and lonely way.
Surrounded by trees,
that outspread
in a charming way.
I found the marvelous lake,
that no longer I could forsake.

Death was brought
by the whispers of the waves.
I stand beneath the stars,
to hear their plot,
upon the lake, upon us all.

Death was brought
by the whispers of the wave.
Full of words of despair,
that arise from the grave.

I stand beneath the stars,
to hear their plot,
upon the lake, upon us all.

Unknown worlds throb,
under dark waters.
Worlds that don't belong to time and light.
Where the vast darkness is protected,
under thick curtains of moss.
Hiding the secrets of other lives,
that the wind in its disturbing scourge,
struggles to behold.
